This project is an opportunity to showcase young parents through a picture story that depicts that young parents are responsible parents. Our Young Parents group ranges in age from 16 to 25 years of age from different backgrounds, each with their own unique story and challenges.

The key components of this project would involve engaging young parents to tell their story of struggle, life and triumphs. A professional picture would be taken that would represent the key message that the young parent wants to share and is representative of their story.

The pictures would be displayed at a community forum where the young parents could be present to speak out on the issues and concerns that face young parents. The future plan for this “Picture Story” would be to go into the schools and other communities to share what life as a young parent is like. The intent would be to reduce the stigma that many young parents face every day.
